About Comfort Women/AMA

When I think of AMA, various scenes come to mind. It could be the vivid memories of her signature home-cooked meals that linger in my thoughts, or the heartwarming image of strolling hand in hand with her. Taiwanese AMA have endured the patriarchal culture, ethnic conflicts, and the hardships of war in this land. In 1941, as the Pacific War erupted, Taiwan, a Japanese colony at the time, became entangled in the conflict. A group of young women were forcibly recruited and sent to the battlefield as "comfort women," becoming victims of sexual violence during the war.
